Eva Gray was recently interviewed by TheCelebrity.Online Magazine and below is the Q&A session we had with her.
Eva Gray As Exclusive Cover Story – June 2023
How do you introduce yourself?
Eva Gray: Hey there! I’m Eva Gray, an incredibly talented actress hailing from the vibrant cities of London and Devon. You may recognise me as the fabulous host of the long-running YouTube Channel, ‘The Trudy Lite Chat Show.’ Trust me, my wit and humour have been entertaining viewers for a solid decade! And guess what? I even graced the screens of Amazon Video for a glorious two years. Apart from my online stardom, I’ve dazzled both on stage and screen for nearly three decades. Quite the impressive resume, wouldn’t you say?
Childhood to Adulthood – How was your transition from childhood to adulthood and what are the bad and good things you remember?
Eva Gray: Ah, the journey from childhood to adulthood, quite the rollercoaster ride! Picture this: the day I had my first period, fate decided to throw in a surprise my first kiss! But alas, it wasn’t the romantic encounter I had envisioned. Instead of a heartfelt conversation, I found myself being passionately smooched by a beach wanderer. Talk about timing, right?
On the bright side, I was lucky to have these three older girls next door who fascinated me with their transformation from carefree kids to blossoming young women. And let me tell you, the excitement of discovering those changes in myself was beyond words! I indulged in the wonders of makeup, fashion, and watching myself transform into the incredible woman I am today.
Struggle – What hardships have you gone through in life?
Eva Gray: In the midst of life’s challenges, one of the most profound struggles I faced was dealing with my older brother, who battled schizophrenia. Oh, the chaos it brought into our lives! Picture this: I’m innocently playing with my dolls or doodling, and he storms into the room, unleashing nonsensical word salad at me as if I’ve committed an unspeakable crime. Needless to say, it left me a nervous wreck, and anxiety became my unwanted companion.
Interestingly enough, the three girls next door used to tease me, saying I’d have to look after him someday. And what did I say? “No way, never!” But life has its twists and turns. In 2014, as fate would have it, my mother fell ill, and on her deathbed, I made a promise to care for my brother. Let me tell you, it was no walk in the park. His needs were complex, and I became his 24/7 lifeline. Sadly, he passed away last year, and while I did my best, I’ll always feel I could’ve done more. Nevertheless, I cherish the journey we shared.
What do people usually not know about you?
Eva Gray: Here’s a secret about me: I’m like a real-life girl guide, always prepared for any situation. Whether it’s someone forgetting suntan lotion, needing a tissue, or complaining about a sore throat, I’ve got their back! My trusty bag is filled to the brim with all the essentials. If, by chance, I’m caught empty-handed, I feel like I’ve failed the preparation gods. But fear not, I add it to my list and make sure I’m equipped for the next encounter. The only exception is those fancy ball or dinner occasions where my bag must be small, but even then, I manage to squeeze in as much as possible. After all, one must always be ready for life’s little surprises!
What sets you apart from your competitors in the industry and in life?
Eva Gray: As an actress, my versatility is one of my greatest strengths. I have the ability to embody a wide range of characters, from frumpy and plain to glamorous and sexy, from funny to serious. This versatility often surprises and confuses people, as I refuse to be confined to a single stereotype. While some agents may struggle with this, I believe it showcases my unique ability to transcend boundaries and bring diverse and captivating performances to life.
In life, I pride myself on being an exceptionally loyal individual. Though I have only a few close friends, I cherish them deeply and will always go above and beyond to support and help them. Loyalty is at the core of who I am, and I believe it is a quality that sets me apart and makes me loveable to those who truly know me.
What are your upcoming major events?
Eva Gray: I have some exciting projects on the horizon. One of them is a feature film called “The Adventures of Sleepy The Magical Bear.” This heartwarming animated film was created during the pandemic with the aim of raising funds for NHS Charities Together. In the film, I portray the character of Finbo The Otter. It’s a small but meaningful role, and I can’t wait for its release in November.
Additionally, my satirical comedy show, “The Trudy Lite Chat Show,” continues to reach audiences worldwide through various platforms. I look forward to interviewing more fascinating individuals and bringing laughter to people’s lives.
Moreover, I am thrilled to share that I have been shortlisted for a significant television series role that may require me to live abroad for a couple of years. As much as I’d love to discuss it further, I’m bound by a non-disclosure agreement. Nevertheless, I’m grateful for the opportunity and excited about the possibilities it holds.
What are your food preferences and physical attributes?
Eva Gray: I have been a dedicated vegan for 22 years, adhering to a plant-based diet that excludes meat, dairy, and eggs. While being vegan used to require explanations everywhere I went, it has become more widely understood in recent times. My favourite dishes tend to hail from the East, and I love plant based Thai, Japanese, Korean and Chinese dishes, particularly if they feature marinated tofu or cashew nuts. These cuisines not only offer delicious flavours but boundless nutritional benefits.
Physically, I stand at a height of 5’3″ and maintain a weight of 8 stones, with a size 8 figure. To enhance my appearance, I visit my talented hairdresser, Andrew Hill, who helps me keep my hair beautifully blonde. My natural hair color may be a boring brown, but I enjoy experimenting with different looks. On occasion, I wear dark wigs, both short and long, adding a touch of versatility to my overall style. As for piercings, I have one in each ear, but beyond that, I have no tattoos. I appreciate the ability to change my look daily through fashion and accessories, as I’ve never been drawn to tattoos personally and I feel they can be an encumbrance for a successful acting career.
Your love life, relationships, and family?
Eva Gray: Within my family, I’m the youngest, with an older brother and my parents, forming a close-knit unit. Sadly, my mother experienced a mental breakdown after my brother’s birth, which led to her spending over a year in a mental hospital while my grandparents cared for my brother. This was an incredibly challenging time for my father, as the joy he anticipated upon visiting the hospital turned into devastation upon realizing my mother’s condition. Understandably, he was initially hesitant to have another child. However, my mother, having no recollection of that year, felt she had missed out and strongly desired another baby. Eventually, she won my father over, and whether planned or accidental, that’s the story I’ve been told.
My journey through love, relationships, and family has shaped me into the person I am today. As the youngest in my family, with my parents and a much older brother, we formed a tight-knit unit that provided a foundation of love and support.
However, our path wasn’t without challenges. My dear mother faced a difficult period of her life after my brother’s birth, experiencing a mental breakdown that led to her spending over a year in a mental hospital. During that time, my grandparents lovingly cared for my brother, while it was a devastating shock for my father to witness the woman he cherished being away with the fairies. Understandably, this led him to hesitate about expanding our family further. But my remarkable mother, who couldn’t recall that year of her life, felt a sense of longing and missed opportunities, yearning for another child. Eventually, through her unwavering determination and love, she won my father over, and I came into this world, and whether serendipity or destiny played a role, that’s the story she shared with me.
While I’m an introverted individual with a small circle of close friends, the connections I hold are immensely meaningful to me. Loyalty is one of my defining qualities, and I am always there for those I hold dear. Their well-being and happiness are of utmost importance, and I cherish the moments we share. Additionally, I am blessed with a life partner who brings immense joy to my days. We share a deep bond built on trust and open communication. He is my confidant, the one I turn to for honest feedback, and his presence enriches my life in countless ways. Together, we navigate important decisions and support one another in our individual and shared aspirations. In fact, he is assisting me in crafting these interview responses, showcasing the strength of our partnership.
What expert advice would you like to give?
Eva Gray: I hold the belief that health should always be our top priority. My advice to everyone is to carve out time each day to nurture both your physical and mental well-being. This can take various forms, whether it’s ensuring you get enough sleep, engaging in regular exercise, nourishing your body with wholesome foods, practicing meditation, or embracing mindfulness. Living in the present moment is a valuable practice that allows us to fully appreciate life’s wonders. Rather than dwelling on past mistakes, let us learn from them and grow. Furthermore, I encourage you not to spend your days solely waiting for future dreams or events to unfold. Embrace the beauty of each day and seize opportunities that come your way. In my personal journey, a dear friend sends me daily mindfulness messages, and I am deeply grateful for the gentle reminders they provide, keeping me focused on what truly matters in life.
