Chin Simpson was recently interviewed by TheCelebrity.Online Magazine and below is the Q&A session we had with her.
Chin Simpson As Exclusive Cover Story – June 2023
How do you introduce yourself?
Childhood to adulthood- how was your transition from childhood to adulthood and what are the bad and good things you remember?
Chin Simpson: I was always grateful for having a very happy and memorable childhood. I remember how much simpler life was back then. I grew up in our family compound with a very small tight knit community, I remember neighbors who became some of our closest family friends and all the life lessons they imparted to me especially during my early 20s. Transitioning to adulthood, I guess just like a lot of us took some time to figure out, which then led to some bad decisions and mistakes. However, without these things, I wouldn’t have learned, so it all worked out- it always does. I’d like to give credit to my parents, in-laws, aunts and uncles who guided me in the beginning.
Struggle- what hardships have you gone through in life?
Chin Simpson: We all go through our own version of hardships. My journey wouldn’t be any different. I believe hardships come in different forms in each stage of our lives. For example, when I was a student, i would struggle a lot academically, then when I grew older, I struggled with some personal relationships. As you move along, you struggle with finding what you want to do in life, then you enter a different chapter- you get married, become a parent, start raising a child, start a business, manage your time, etc- all these things come with its own set of struggles. The good thing with that is, as you find yourself overcoming each of it, you realize how much you have grown as a person which then leads you to be more capable in handling a new set of struggles that comes your way. I believe it’s that beautiful, unpredictable cycle of life.
What do people usually not know about you?
Chin Simpson: I’m pretty much an open book to most people. I enjoy sharing bits and pieces of my life on my Instagram story- as it’s pretty much what they see is what they get. Of course, there are certain things I feel that not everyone will know about us, generally speaking. I think all of us have that in us, a part where it’s only us who knows, or maybe only your core group of people know about. Most people I know get surprised that despite my very outgoing, energetic, easy personality, I tell them that I am actually more of an introvert and I like being by myself. I enjoy eating alone. I enjoy watching movies and shopping alone. I cherish the “me time.”
What sets you apart from your competitors in the industry and in life?
Chin Simpson: I honestly have been asked this before and I maintain the same answer. Instead of thinking what sets me apart, I think, what brings us together? What can we all contribute to our consumers? The beauty industry is very big and I believe there is always space to find commonalities as a brand and how we can serve people. One brand may have a star product and another brand may have another, and a customer has the freedom to have both and enjoy the benefits of both brands. Ultimately, it is our responsibility to provide the beauty market with effective, quality products so this way each consumer can be confident with their purchases, and in turn, as business owners, we get our fair share in the market.
What are your upcoming major events-unforgettable moments or products and services that you want to promote/inform?
Chin Simpson: We are preparing for the relaunching of our rebranding and with the added new products we are launching. Some of the most unforgettable moments for me would be brainstorming with my small team of dedicated, hardworking people- from solving problems to, coming up with ideas, to celebrating small wins, to getting giddy with each purchases made from us, and just getting to know each other in a deeper way. I believe all these are a huge contribution to whatever success we are enjoying at the moment.
What are your food preferences?
Chin Simpson: I’m not a picky eater, I would say a really good deli sandwich and some iced coffee would be a perfect go to meal. But I appreciate the food world a lot too. Exploring different cuisines and trying different restaurants is something my husband and I look forward to each time we travel. But of course, nothing beats a good home cooked meal too.
I always credit my husband, Jeffrey, for the love, encouragement, and support he has always given me. He is my number 1 cheerleader and every single day of my life, I am always grateful to have him as my life partner. Our 2 daughters, Kate and Lizzie are pride and joy and the greatest source of motivation in striving to be better and do better. My family, brothers, and my in-laws too, are some of the greatest people I have in my life.
What expert advice would you give?
Chin Simpson: Give it your best, every single time.
